Single tax for providers: the battle continues

The Internet Association of Ukraine has prepared a release in response to the efforts of the American Chamber of Commerce (ACC) and other big business representatives to abolish the mechanisms of small business protection that exist in Ukraine - the release is here.

The ACC's prescriptions for Ukraine run counter to the positive experience of the American economy, which is largely based on strong government support for small businesses. Adoption of these recipes, according to the UAA, will destroy the sustainability of Ukrainian networks, which have so far managed to withstand the enormous pressure of the war. In addition, accepting the ACC's calls would mean breaking the promises of continued protection for small businesses that Ukraine's political leadership made to their voters.

The UBA states that:

  • "It is incompatible with the rules of business ethics for associations to lobby for the interests of their members by calling for a deterioration in the conditions of a competitive market segment - small business;
  • It is unacceptable to accuse small Ukrainian businesses of all sins, manipulate information and neglect the practices of protecting small businesses that are accepted in all civilized countries, including the United States;
  • it would be unworthy of Ukrainian top politicians to abandon the election program promise of the Servant of the People party "to guarantee the invariability of the current taxation conditions for small businesses - individuals at the legislative level".

The UIA once again calls on all state institutions not to succumb to manipulative statements initiated by monopolists, to prevent the abolition of the simplified taxation system for a separate electronic communications industry, and thus to preserve the unique features of the national telecom, its sustainability through decentralization, its flexibility, which allows it to provide quality services to Ukrainian consumers during a difficult war.
