The National Bank has finally made a decision on card restrictions on transfers between individuals. NBU Resolution No. 102 dated 08/27/2024.

Officially: the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to combat illegal gambling.

In reality:

- counteracting the concealment of business income;

- counteracting the payment of unofficial wages;

- combating financial fraud known as "drops" (people who transfer their card details and data to other people for payment; accounts are used as "transit" accounts for transferring and "laundering" illegal funds).

The restriction will be introduced:

- on the amount of UAH 150,000 per month;

- from all accounts in one bank;

- on outgoing payments;

- to cards of other individuals.

Restrictions do not apply to:

- volunteer accounts;

- the number of transactions per month;

- settlements between your own cards;

- transfers with officially confirmed income of more than UAH 150,000.

The restrictions will come into effect on October 1, 2024 and will be in effect for 6 months.
