"Ministry of Unity" may appear in the fall - Zelenskyy
An institution to ensure the unity of Ukrainian citizens abroad may appear as early as this fall. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a press conference, RBC-Ukraine reports .
He said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs lacks the resources to support the 7.5 million Ukrainians living abroad.
Zelensky added that if taxpayers are not brought out of the shadows, Ukraine will face serious challenges after the war.
"We need to return the adult population, children to Ukraine. We need to make a decision in the fall," he emphasized.
Ministry of Unity
Last week, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the creation of a "Ministry of Unity" to ensure the unity of Ukrainians abroad and counter Russian propaganda.
The scope of this institution will cover Ukrainians in different countries and their ties with Ukraine and protect the common interests of Ukrainians as a nation.
Zelenskyy emphasized that more active state involvement is needed to meet the educational, cultural, and informational needs of Ukrainians. However, the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs alone are not enough.
