Formation of an e-hospital for pregnancy and childbirth

The Order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine No. 1810 dated 18.10.2023 amended the Procedure for Formation of Medical Certificates of Temporary Disability in the Register of the e-Healthcare System, which concerns medical certificates of the category "Pregnancy and Childbirth".

In accordance with the Procedure, a medical certificate of the "Pregnancy and Childbirth" category is issued for the following periods

  • prenatal (70 calendar days);
  • postpartum period (56 calendar days (in case of birth of two or more children and in case of complications of childbirth - 70 calendar days);
  • additional period of disability (14 calendar days).

A medical report of the category "Pregnancy and childbirth" is formed from the date specified by the woman in the period from the beginning of the 30th week of pregnancy to the day of delivery (inclusive). If a patient wishes to postpone the formation of a medical report of the category "Pregnancy and childbirth" to a date later than the beginning of the 30th week of pregnancy, she writes an application to the chief physician of the health care institution.

If a patient has not received a medical certificate of the "Pregnancy and Childbirth" category before the day of delivery, a medical certificate of this category is issued from the date of delivery.

For women affected by the Chornobyl disaster, a medical report of the category "Pregnancy and childbirth" is formed from the date specified by the patient in the period from the beginning of the 27th week of pregnancy to the day of delivery (inclusive). At the woman's request, the medical report of the "Pregnancy and Childbirth" category may be postponed to a date later than the beginning of the 27th week of pregnancy on the basis of an application.
