Four social benefits for families with children are available on the Diia portal

In 2023, the Ministry of Social Policy actively worked to improve the support system for families with children, focusing also on the digitalization of social assistance payments. An important step in this direction was the availability of four types of social assistance on the Diia portal.

We remind you that the four benefits available on the Diia portal are not additional payments. The service is aimed at those who apply for benefits for the first time or those who plan to re-apply due to the expiration of the appointment.

Previously, to receive these services, people had to collect a large number of documents and visit social protection authorities. Now, however, such assistance can be applied for remotely without leaving home.

We are talking about the following types of assistance

- Child adoption assistance - for parents who have adopted orphans or children deprived of parental care. To find out who is eligible for assistance, follow the link.

- assistance to a person who cares for a sick child who has not been diagnosed with a disability - for parents, adoptive parents, foster parents, guardians, caregivers who care for a child. To find out who is eligible for assistance, follow the link.

- Assistance to people with disabilities since childhood and children with disabilities, which is granted for the entire duration of the disability. To find out who is eligible for assistance, please follow the link.

- Child benefit for a single mother or father - for single adoptive parents or single mothers or fathers who are not married. To find out who is eligible for assistance, follow the link.

To take advantage of this opportunity, citizens need to log in to the Diia portal, go to the "services" menu, select the "application for assistance" option, fill in the necessary information, form an application and declaration, and sign it with an electronic signature or Diia.Signature. Benefits are granted within 10 days from the date of application, and a notification of the result of the application will be sent to the user's personal account on the Diia portal or by e-mail.

The digitalization of the social sphere avoids unnecessary errors in the service, ensures transparency of information processing and encourages the social protection departments to adhere to uniform standards for processing applications. Currently, the Ministry of Social Policy, together with the National Social Service, is finalizing the process of efficient processing of applications to provide prompt, high-quality and timely assistance to those citizens who need it most.
