Hetmantsev cited the results of de-shadowing the alcoholic beverage market
Danylo Hetmantsev, Chairman of the Tax Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, emphasizes that measures to de-shadow the alcoholic beverage market, despite the fierce opposition of black market players (the so-called "business defenders" and "sofa experts"), have yielded positive results in terms of budget revenues.
For example, in 2023, the largest producers of alcoholic beverages declared 1.7 times more income tax payable compared to 2022. The tax efficiency of income tax for such entities increased from 1.4% in 2022 to 2.0% in 2023.
The increase in performance was not only in income tax, but also in VAT.
For 2 months of this year, VAT payable has already been declared by 28.1% more than in the same period last year.
The VAT tax efficiency increased from 4.9% in 2 months of 2023 to 6.2% in 2 months of 2024. By the way, the tax efficiency has also increased compared to 2023 in general (5.2%).
