Agricultural processing companies can receive co-financing

Despite Russia's war against Ukraine, international partners are taking all possible measures to support the Ukrainian agricultural sector, the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy reports.

Thus, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the USAID Agricultural and Rural Development Program (AGRO) plans to provide co-financing for 20 Ukrainian agricultural processing enterprises to restore and develop export potential.

The enterprises can receive co-financing to achieve the following results

  • increase the volume of raw materials procurement and processing, in particular by establishing long-term partnerships with micro, small and medium-sized agricultural producers
  • introduce new technologies and practices for grain processing to increase productivity by at least 25%;
  • develop a long-term export strategy and increase sales by 20% through 5 new export channels and markets for processed products;
  • increase sales in foreign markets.

The competition is open to non-governmental (private) enterprises/companies that have export-oriented development strategies and are regular exporters.

USAID AGRO will pay special attention to restoring and strengthening processing capacities to produce value-added products for export from the following categories of inputs:

♦ corn for feed and food production

Wheat for food, industrial and feed purposes

Rye for industrial and feed purposes

♦ industrial sunflower seeds;

High oleic sunflower seeds;

♦ soybeans for industrial and feed purposes;

♦ varietal and regular cycle seeds.

At the same time, projects aimed at storing grains, oilseeds and pulses, including receiving, cleaning, drying, storing, and shipping grain to railways and trucks, are not eligible.
