Ukraine introduces a useful feature to speed up payments at store checkouts
Ukraine has introduced a new payment service called Flexible Payment, which allows combining different payment methods within one purchase - card and cash. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the press service of Mastercard.
Thus, if there is not enough money on the bank card to pay, customers will be able to immediately pay the required amount in another way - with another payment card or cash, without having to interrupt the purchase or split it into two separate checks.
This service is currently available at two gas station chains.
A network for payments in Ukraine
As a reminder, according to the NBU, in 2023, UAH 1 trillion 608 billion worth of purchases were made in retail chains.
The average amount of a payment card transaction in a retail network was UAH 325.
In total, there are 51.2 million active bank cards in Ukraine.
