The Ministry of Economy and Business discussed preparations for the signing of the Agreement on "industrial visa-free regime"

On May 16, 2024, representatives of the Ministry of Economy met online with EBA member companies to discuss important issues affecting business in Ukraine. The main attention was paid to the progress in signing the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA Agreement), which should significantly simplify the export of Ukrainian industrial goods to the EU.

The meeting discussed the results of the previous EU assessment mission, which ended in July 2023. The assessment mission included an analysis of the state of adaptation of Ukrainian legislation and infrastructure readiness for the signing of the ACAA Agreement. European experts positively assessed Ukraine's progress, but also provided recommendations for further improvement.

In addition, the meeting considered a draft government resolution amending technical regulations on electromagnetic compatibility and low-voltage electrical equipment. These changes are intended to take into account European recommendations and prepare Ukraine for signing the ACAA Agreement in priority industrial sectors.

Also on the agenda was a new draft law on the harmonization of Ukrainian legislation with the European one in the field of accreditation of conformity assessment and technical regulation bodies. This draft law includes important provisions necessary for the implementation of the ACAA Agreement, in particular, the recognition of EU declarations of conformity and certificates in Ukraine.

Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Vitaliy Kindrativ emphasized the importance of cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in implementing European requirements, which will help to increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian goods and economic growth of the country. During the meeting, the parties also identified further steps for Ukraine's integration into the European market.
