Customs will apply artificial intelligence

The State Customs Service has implemented a new version of its automated risk analysis system, which includes elements of artificial intelligence.

According to the agency's website, the improvement of customs control processes was made possible through cooperation with Microsoft.

The new system uses generative high-language models (LLM) to automate the verification of names and surnames in customs declarations.

Artificial intelligence will do in seconds what takes tens of minutes for humans.

Thanks to AI, the system automatically highlights incorrect entries, leaving only the most questionable options for manual verification.

In addition, the system is already being tested in other areas, such as the classification of goods and their value, demonstrating high efficiency in processing large amounts of data.

"It seems to me that it will be like with scanners ('craftsmen' are able to take them out of operation at the 'right' moment).

Although the expectations of the customs service are optimistic. We'll see," writes Nina Yuzhanina on this issue.
