The "transport visa-free regime" with the EU has been extended for another year

The Agreement on the Liberalization of Freight Transport between Ukraine and the EU has been extended for a year with the possibility of automatic prolongation until the end of 2025. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced the agreement between our country and the European Commission on "transport visa-free travel".

This means that trucking from Ukraine to the EU and vice versa - from the EU to Ukraine - will no longer require special permits.

The updated agreement also provides for a number of mutual obligations regarding the availability of licenses for transportation and truck labeling.

"Ukraine demonstrates practical results of integration into the EU economic and logistics space. The extension of the 'transport visa-free regime' is one of these steps. It will ensure positive dynamics of exports to the EU countries, which will make us more economically sustainable. In addition, unrestricted freight transportation will speed up the receipt of goods and components by Ukrainian entrepreneurs for the development of their own production," said Denys Shmyhal.

The Head of Government noted that over the year and a half of the relevant agreement, Ukraine has exported 48% more goods to the EU than in the same period before its signing. The Government expects this positive trend to continue.

"We are grateful to our partners for this step of solidarity, which will benefit our country and the countries of a united Europe," the Prime Minister said and added that the extension of the "transport visa-free regime" is another important step towards integration into the economic space of a united Europe as a prerequisite for our country's membership in the EU.
