Dismissal for collaboration: the law is published

On June 26, the President signed the Law of Ukraine No. 3768-IX dated June 4, 2024, which establishes additional grounds for termination of an employment contract at the initiative of the employer.

The document was officially published in the Golos Ukrainy newspaper on 27.06.2024. The new rules will come into force in three months, i.e. on 27.09.2024.

The Law establishes additional grounds for termination of an employment contract at the initiative of the employer in case of entry into force of a court verdict convicting an employee (except for probation) of a crime against the national security of Ukraine and failure of the employee to comply with the rules of conduct at the enterprise, institution or organization in terms of the provisions stipulated by the rules of conduct.

The rules of conduct at an enterprise, institution, or organization, which may be part of the internal labor regulations, must contain provisions on the obligations of employees to not disclose restricted information, including information constituting a state or commercial secret, as well as on the conditions for working with confidential information.
