VAT and customs duty exemptions for imports of energy equipment were introduced
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has voted in the second reading and in general on two draft laws, No. 11258 and No. 11259, which are designed to restore energy infrastructure and de-mining the territory of Ukraine as soon as possible.
One of the initiators of the draft laws, MP and member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Transport and Infrastructure Oleksandr Gorenyuk, noted that both draft laws are critical for the restoration of the country's energy system. "The draft law on accelerated demining has also become a draft law on accelerated energy recovery in Ukraine," he emphasized.
The adopted laws, in particular, provide for tax exemption for the following equipment
- mechanized demining machines
- electric generating equipment;
- equipment for wind and solar generation;
- batteries (except for low-power batteries).
Ukraine is currently the most mined country in the world with more than 174 thousand square kilometers of mined areas, and as the war continues, the area of mine contamination will grow rapidly. The adopted laws will provide the necessary conditions for energy stability and security in Ukraine and will contribute to more effective demining and economic recovery.
In addition, the adopted legislative acts will promote the development of domestic production of demining machines.
