De-shadowing of business: Hetmantsev told about the results of inspections
Danylo Hetmantsev, Chairman of the Tax Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, devoted his time to the news of de-shadowing and told what steps have already been taken in this direction and what more needs to be done.
Internet commerce is being actively de-shadowed.
Since the beginning of the year, 519 inspections of business entities have been conducted, and UAH 17.5 million in fines have been imposed. In addition, the State Tax Service recorded 659 facts of sales by persons not registered as business entities. The situation with online commerce is complicated, so the de-shadowing of this area should be accelerated.
"Obviously, one of the worst situations with the shadow economy is in the restaurant business," the MP writes.
Restaurateurs continue to print several receipts a day or do not make payments through cash registers at all, working in the shadows.
Despite this, revenues have increased by 42.6% since the beginning of the year. Tax payments have also increased. However, in July alone, UAH 7.8 million in penalties were charged during 674 inspections.
"I know many restaurateurs as decent people. Friends, tax evasion in times of war is unacceptable. We need to abandon these shameful practices yesterday.
I also appeal to consumers - please demand a cash register receipt for the money you paid. By doing so, you are really helping to raise money for the army," said Dmytro Hetmantsev.
"I would like to thank some tobacco retailers who have abandoned the practice of selling outside of cash registers," - writes the MP.
Compared to January, in July, sales of tobacco products in the country increased by 21.6%. I am especially grateful to the tax authorities and entrepreneurs who work in Kyiv's kiosks, where the increase compared to January is 148.2%.
At the same time, we see that a third of tobacco outlets do not have POS terminals installed. This is a violation of the current legislation and entails administrative liability. Please fix it as soon as possible.
In July of this year, a historical record was set for the daily number of cash register receipts - 26.6 million, with an average daily revenue of UAH 12.2 billion. In total, 827.9 million checks worth UAH 377.23 billion were issued during the month. Compared to the previous month, the average daily revenue grew by 3.4%, and by 22% compared to January, which indicates a stable trend of trade whitening.
Good news from the vending market.
Vending companies are actively installing cash registers, and their revenue has increased by 292% since the beginning of the year. The number of fiscalized machines has tripled to 7296.
"I would like to address the companies concerned. According to our data, a significant number of machines are still in the shadows. In order to avoid any misunderstandings, I ask you to correct this unfortunate mistake as soon as possible to avoid unfavorable consequences," emphasizes D. Hetmantsev.
This year, the sale of jewelry has been significantly de-shadowed.
We see a 56% increase in revenues from January to July. And tax payments have more than doubled. Major market players have completely switched to the white side of the business and are closely monitoring their colleagues. We are also keeping an eye on them, and we ask you to ask for receipts when purchasing your jewelry. We remember that by doing so, you are helping to raise money for the army.
"I am very grateful to those large electronics retailers who heard the state and stopped their tax evasion practices by adjusting the taxable object for the previous period. The four largest players are among them.
Other companies also hear society and abandon old schemes. And those who are still dabbling in selling electronics "on order with delivery," understand that your attempts to work in the black are obvious, the State Tax Service sees them and is happy to make control purchases, charging additional fines and transferring materials to the BES.
Overall, this year 1306 taxpayer audits of the industry were conducted, and UAH 2.1 billion was accrued.
Tax payments by the industry have doubled year on year!
The tax burden has increased significantly. And the shameful scheme with audiobooks is a thing of the past.
Currently, 66 audits are underway with daily timekeeping. And this practice will continue until the industry is completely de-shadowed.
Dear friends, the new procedure for applying the rules in full compliance with the Tax Code is permanent and inevitable. There will be no other way. There is no alternative to working around the law. And buyers, don't forget to ask for a receipt! After all, in this way you help to finance the army at the expense of your taxes," the MP writes.
