Zelensky made a statement on taxes
Decisions on tax increases should be only fair and those that help Ukrainian business. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to an address by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Here in Kropyvnytskyi and yesterday in Dnipro, I spoke with entrepreneurs. It is very important to keep businesses running, to keep jobs in Ukraine," Zelensky said.
The Head of State expressed gratitude for the support of relocated businesses.
"When enterprises work, it is easier for communities, and social issues are resolved faster. And the government should remember this when coming up with tax proposals. We need only solutions that help and are really fair," the President emphasized.
Tax increases in Ukraine
As a reminder, the government announced a shortfall of about UAH 500 billion in the state budget to finance defense needs in 2024.
In this regard, on July 18, the Cabinet of Ministers approved draft amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine, which provide for an increase in tax revenues to the state budget in 2024 in the total amount of UAH 138.7 billion. To this end, the government proposes to increase the rates of certain taxes and expand the tax base.
