Zelensky: the Cabinet's decisions to grow the economy will not put pressure on "white" business

The Ukrainian government is preparing solutions that will allow the country's economy to grow. But they should not put pressure on the "white" business. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing an evening address by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He said that Ukrainian officials plan to give the economy more opportunities and more growth potential. He discussed this issue at a meeting with the Cabinet of Ministers and representatives of the Rada.

"All the details will be presented by the government when the relevant projects are prepared. But we can already say that we have agreed with the government: ministers will look for alternative solutions without putting pressure on the "white" business," the President noted.

According to him, the participants also agreed on additional steps to de-shadow business.

At the same time, the meeting raised the issue of working with partners on real solutions to the promised $50 billion in profits from frozen Russian assets. There were many political statements from partners on this issue, but Ukraine needs a real mechanism.

"We need the proceeds from the aggressor's assets to work for real help in defending against the aggressor - for all this to work for the sake of Ukraine and Ukrainians in the coming months. The relevant discussions have been going on for too long, and finally, we need decisions," the President said.

As a reminder, the government has found out that Ukraine needs to "find" UAH 500 billion to finance defense needs in 2024.
