It is planned to allow gambling advertising, but with restrictions

The working group on the draft law on combating gambling addiction No. 9256-d is continuing, MP Nina Yuzhanina said.

So, in preparation for the second reading, most of the rules on advertising and sponsorship that were supposed to be banned were returned to the draft.

It is planned to allow gambling advertising:

♦ on television and radio from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m;

♦ in specialized publications dedicated to gambling and/or sports

♦ directly in the premises of gambling facilities

♦ on websites of gambling organizers or in their mobile applications;

♦ in online media (all media resources, including news) intended for people over the age of 21.

The MP is convinced that the age limit is purely nominal, because it is impossible to control whether a person has reached the age of 21, as is the case now with the sale of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products through online stores.

Sponsorship of gambling is also planned to be allowed, except for the use of outdoor advertising (on the facades of buildings or structures) and the placement of information about such sponsorship in the subway and other public transport.

"Also, in response to my remark, they promise to finalize the rule prohibiting the placement of sponsorship information (read: a call to play) on the interior of premises, such as a shopping mall, because the organizers will definitely take this loophole into account.

We are currently discussing the proposed changes with representatives of this business, who approve of the proposed wording, saying that it "balances advertising as much as possible," the MP writes.
