Delivery of ready meals: what businesses and consumers should know
Millions of Ukrainians use food delivery services, namely ready-to-eat meals from restaurants. It's fast, convenient, and delicious. But is it always safe?
In order to avoid unpleasant situations related to ordering ready-made meals, we advise consumers to pay attention to the following
- the website where you order food must contain mandatory information about the seller, in accordance with Article 7 of the Law of Ukraine "On Electronic Commerce", including its name, location, license information, etc;
- The Rules of Operation of Restaurant Business Establishments (Enterprises) stipulate that each batch of products sold outside the trading floor must be accompanied by information, in particular, on the name of the manufacturer, its address, product name, date of manufacture, expiration date or expiration date, conditions of sale and storage, weight of the packaging unit and price per packaging unit or weight of the product.
You should also pay attention to who you are ordering from:
- directly at a food establishment that provides delivery services?
- or in a delivery service that can bring an order from any restaurant?
In case it is a delivery service, we advise you to study the information not only on the website of this service, but also to review the mandatory information on the website of the food manufacturer.
If you believe that your consumer rights have been violated and the business entity refuses to satisfy your requirements in accordance with applicable law, please contact the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection or its territorial bodies.
