The Ministry of National Unity has appeared in Ukraine

The government has decided to rename the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories. The agency will have a new name - the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Telegram channel of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

"From the first day of the Russian invasion, unity has been our main weapon. Unity within the country, unity with our partners, unity of Ukrainians around the world," Shmyhal said.

He reminded that today the Verkhovna Rada appointed Oleksiy Chernyshev as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity of Ukraine.

The Government also decided to rename the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories to the Ministry of National Unity of Ukraine.

According to Shmyhal, this decision will help to form a new quality of work and interaction with the multimillion Ukrainian community from all waves of migration.

"Establishment of the Ministry of National Unity will also help to formulate a strategy on how to bring Ukrainians back to live and work in Ukraine. The new Deputy Prime Minister should soon present a clear plan for the development of the ministry, its team and key KPIs," the Prime Minister said.

In August, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the creation of a "Ministry of Unity" to unite Ukrainians abroad and counter Russian propaganda.

The main mission of the new agency will be to support Ukrainian communities abroad, strengthen their ties with the homeland, and protect common national interests.

Zelenskyy emphasized that more active state involvement is needed to meet the educational, cultural, and informational needs of Ukrainians, as the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs alone are not enough.
